Happy Sunday Everyone! Our very special blogger today is Sus from Book Reviews by Sus. She’s a newer blogger on the block with a fantastic sense of humor! I fell in love with Book Reviews by Sus after reading so many 80’s references and shared favorites (like The Princess Bride) in several posts. I knew after reading those references that Sus had to be a cool cat with fantastic tastes! Won’t you join me in serenading Sus.
What do you do when you’re not blogging or reading?[br] Well, I have a full-time job, so that takes care of 9-5 M-F, but on my off time when I’m not blogging or reading, I watch TV, run, ski (winter months, obviously), and hang out with my ever growing extended family. I love to cook, so I do that most nights. Unfortunately, I’ve been sick (just a cold) this week, so most of my time is spent sneezing, making tea and sleeping.
I do hope you are feeling much better ~ it’s always miserable to be sick yet have to continue working, keeping the home, taking care of the kids…etc. etc….. So how do you carve out time for blogging, reading, family and life?[br] Well, family comes first. Always. I can blog on my phone through blogger’s app, so that makes things easier if I’m short on time. I also post blogs during my lunch hour at work. I also stay up way too late so I can finish a book. Which is probably why I have a cold now. Luckily, I have a 2 hour commute each day where I can read and I’m a fast reader, so books generally don’t take me that long.
I’m so impressed when bloggers tell me all they accomplish with their smart phones. I have a smart phone but goodness knows I sure don’t know how to blog from it! Kudos to you Sus! So tell us about your favorite place to read and why you love it so much. [br] My favorite place to read is on my couch. Sounds boring, I know, but it is THE most comfortable couch ever. I sit on the left end of it because there is a perfect view of the TV (I often read and watch TV simultaneously), my dogs can cozy up next to me and there’s natural light behind me so I don’t have to turn on the lights until dusk.
Looks like the perfect place to read to me ~ and having the dogs to cuddle must make it even that more cozy! Now Sus, if you could speed-date any author, who would it be and what would you ask? [br] Good question. I’m going to predicate this answer with a) I’ve never been speed dating, so I’m not 100% sure how it works. My only knowledge of it is from movies (like Hitch). And b) I tend to read more female authors than male, so I’m picking a female just for ease of answering the question. SO! My answer is Janet Evanovich, because she’s so funny – her answers would be a hoot. I’d ask her what her favorite flavor of donut is, if she’s Team Ranger or Team Morelli, if she’d call her style more “Stephanie” or more “Lula”, and why can’t she include more Bob The Dog in the books? Because his parts are excellent.
What a great pick in an author! And who said speed dating had to be of the same sex ~ we are making up the rules as we go! Finally, if your life could be summed up in a book or a movie title, what would it be? [br] Well, just based on the title, Life is Beautiful.
There you have it folks, a genuinely funny, sweet, kind blogger with a penchant for baseball. Thanks for joining us today Sus!
